A Legend Confirmed

06-19-2008

Baseball folklore has always stated that Babe Ruth hit three homeruns in one game to raise the spirits of a very sick New Jersey boy in 1926. Quite recently an author has confirmed this story to be completely true. It turns out that the Great Bambino actually did promise the kid he would hit a homerun for him. According to sources, the boy, while hospitalized, received a signed baseball by Ruth that said, “I’ll knock a homer for you in Wednesday’s game”. Not only did he live up to his promise but Ruth hit three in that game. In honor of the legendary story a plaque is to be placed at the home of the once sick child.
